This is the 1Q15 update of the World Telecoms Financial Benchmarks (WTFB), which tracks detailed financial and operational KPIs for 45 of the largest global telecoms operator groups.


  • Total industry revenue saw a continued acceleration in growth to 2.3% year-on-year in 1Q15, after growth of 1.7% in 4Q14.
  • The industry EBITDA margin fell slightly to 32.0% in 1Q15 compared with 32.5% in 1Q14.
  • In 1Q15, the industry EBIT margin fell YoY to 14.8%, compared to 16.8% in 1Q14, and the industry net income margin fell to 8.4%.
