The Telco Services Innovation Radar provides a summary of the services launched by telcos around the world during the first half of 2017. It offers a global view of new and innovative services in the industry. The services must have been publicly confirmed by telecoms service providers during the period. If no press release or website is available, we require extensive coverage in the press to include the service in the radar.

  • In the past six months, we tracked a total of 474 service launches, compared to 494 stories in the second half of 2016.
  • In 1H17, the majority of launches continued to be in Europe, but Africa and the Middle East both increased their overall percentage share of the stories compared to 2H16.
  • The categories with the most stories were money and the Internet of Things, followed closely by security and standalone OTT.
