This is Ovum’s data set covering investments and acquisitions in the Internet of Things sector by OEMs and vendors from across the TMT landscape.

Highlights

  • There were 27 new deals listed in 2H16, of which 14 disclosed the terms of purchase. Across those 14 deals, companies spent a total of $90bn. The majority of acquisitions and investments continued to be for US-based companies, and in the IT services sector.
  • Notable deals for 2H16 include Qualcomm's $47bn acquisition of NXP Semiconductors, and Softbank's $31bn acquisition of ARM.
