Swisscom's IPTV service continues to grow at a faster rate than its cable rival, and in 4Q15 it usurped UPC Cablecom as the country’s leading pay-TV service in terms of subscribers.
  • Battle of the "next-gen" TV platforms rumbles on, with UPC Cablecom having launched its Horizon TV service in January 2013 while, in April 2014, Swisscom began rolling out its new TV 2.0 platform, which features a cloud recording service. Netflix’s entry into the Swiss market in September 2014 has seen pay-TV operators attempt to react with their own SVoD offerings, most notably Swisscom’s Teleclub Play and UPC’s MyPrime.
