Introduction

Ovum has finalized a major revision of its global OTT Video analysis. The extended OTT Video Forecast report covers all the world regions and Ovum's 19 tier 1 territories.

  • Total worldwide revenue from paid-for digital video, across both transactional and subscription platforms, will increase by almost one-fifth this year, reaching almost $14bn in 2015.
  • This year subscription VOD (SVOD), by far the largest area of OTT video revenue, is set to generate two-thirds of the world's OTT video business .
  • The number of consumers subscribing to stand-alone SVOD services is forecast to grow 25% in 2015, meaning the total number of global SVOD subscribers will exceed 100 million for the first time, a major milestone in the development of the OTT video.
