Italian trade association FIMI has reported a flat year for recorded-music sales. Despite a big rise in record-company earnings from paid subscriptions and advertising income, a drop in CD album sales resulted in little change to the overall figure.

  • Figures prepared by accounting firm Deloitte for FIMI show trade revenue from recorded-music sales in Italy edged up just 0.4% last year, to €149.5m ($165.4m), from €148.9m in 2015.
