This report provides an update on Telenor Group operations to end-June 2016, covering financial performance, market dynamics, key developments, and strategy as well as the operator's latest product and service launches.

Highlights

  • Telenor had a total of 211 million mobile subscribers in 2Q16, up 10.8% year on year. This was driven by Myanmar which represented 8% of total mobile subscriptions, a short time after its commercial launch in 3Q14.
  • Telenor raised its stake in its Indian subsidiary, Uninor, to 100% in September 2014 and rebranded it Telenor India in September 2015. Telenor is not participating in the upcoming spectrum auction in India. Globul was officially rebranded as Telenor Bulgaria in November 2014.
