  • South Korea’s three mobile operators – SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+ – have deployed LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) networks. The operators started upgrading their LTE networks to offer speeds up to 225Mbps using 2-band carrier aggregation in mid-2013.
  • High fixed and mobile penetration rates have set the ground for operators to offer the next set of emerging services, such as ultra-HD TV, cloud, connected home, and Internet of Things (IoT) services.
  • While overall subscriber growth is likely to remain flat for the three mobile operators in the well penetrated market, mobile ARPU is set to continue to expand in the medium term backed by take-up of LTE services.
