Introduction

This presentation offers an update on Denmark's telecoms market, covering mobile, fixed broadband, operator initiatives, M&A, and regulation. It includes subscription, revenue, and technology forecasts for mobile and fixed broadband.

Highlights

  • The Danish telecoms market is one of Europe's leaders in terms of fixed broadband and mobile penetration rates. Fixed-line voice subscriptions and revenue continue to contract as more people opt for VoIP and mobile-only solutions.
  • In September 2015, Telenor and TeliaSonera withdrew from the proposed 50/50 joint venture of their respective business units in Denmark. If the deal was successful, the combined company would have been the largest mobile operator in the country.
  • TDC and regional energy provider Trefor have signed a strategic agreement that will allow TDC to offer its broadband products over Trefor’s fiber-optic network in the Triangle region of Denmark. Trefor will retain ownership and responsibility for expansion of the fiber network; TDC will take over operation of the infrastructure.

Features and Benefits

  • Analyzes Denmark's mobile and fixed markets, identifying recent developments, strategic initiatives, and key products and services.
  • Assesses operator moves including NGA network development, mobile data pricing, recent product offerings, and OTT service launches.

Key questions answered

  • Who are the market leaders in Danish mobile and fixed telecoms and what are their market shares?
  • At what rate are 4G subscriptions in Denmark growing?
  • What are the new operator initiatives in Denmark?
  • How will the revenues grow in the next five years? Which technologies will be driving the revenue growth?
