This presentation analyzes the services and trends that were identified in the Telco Services Innovation Radar: 4Q16. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the radar and aims to identify and provide insight into some of the service innovation trends in the telecoms industry.


  • Telcos are focusing on embellishing their core voice, messaging, and data-access services to provide enhanced service integration, access to content, and customization of services inside and outside their own service portfolios.
  • In 2016, we tracked a total of 993 service launches, compared to 1,042 stories in 2015. In 2H16, the majority of launches continued to be in Europe. Mobile money, TV/video, and IoT were the largest categories for 2016.
