Introduction

As part of Ovum’s ongoing Telco Services Innovation Radar project, we reviewed 97 announcements of innovative services by service providers around the world. One of this month’s most innovative announcements was the launch of SK Telecom’s omni-channel platform, “Smart Shopper,” which allows customers to buy items using a barcode scanner and self-checkout in a retail store, and get home delivery of the items at a specified date and time. In conjunction, SK Telecom unveiled several complementary mobile commerce apps.
