Introduction

Although broadband-to-the-home network vendors have been remarkably stable over the last several years, we anticipate several changes as both communication service providers (CSPs) and vendors look for new revenue sources.

Highlights

  • Huawei, followed by Nokia and ZTE, will maintain their dominance in the broadband-to-the-home market, but their product and marketing strategies will promote both wireline and fixed wireless solutions. Vendors must continue to strengthen their service offerings around network planning, implementation, activation, and customer support.
  • FWA is a strong fit for broadband-to-the-home in selected scenarios. Consequently, we will see other vendors, such as Ericsson and Samsung, take a share of the future broadband-to-the-home network-equipment market.
  • The largest broadband-to-the-home vendors will fight for market share with broad-based product portfolios.

Features and Benefits

  • Assesses the product and service portfolios of the wireline broadband access equipment vendors.
  • Analyzes the opportunity for wireless vendors to enter the broadband-to-the-home market given the opportunity for FWA to be deployed in selected scenarios.
  • Compares the vendors by category, including leaders, challengers, future challengers, and niche players.

Key questions answered

  • Which vendors are the leaders, which are the challengers, and which are the niche players?
  • Which vendors are likely to enter the market given the opportunity for FWA?
  • What are the vendors' weaknesses and strategies?
