Electronics giant Sony Corp. has reported a positive third quarter of its 2017 financial year for its music division, SME.

  • All three of SME's divisions (recorded music, music publishing, and visual media and platform) registered growth, but, in a repeat of the previous quarter, Sony noted that the significant overall increase in music revenue and operating income was largely down to visual media and platform – and mobile game Fate/Grand Order.
  • The company also said the increase in streaming sales was a major growth provider.
