When we covered Ngena in May 2016, DT and its partners were making another effort to get a service provider alliance for advanced services off the ground. Back then, the product was being offered as an early proof point for Cisco’s “Intercloud” concept. At MWC, we spoke with Ngena and DT executives; we therefore offer the following update.


  • Connectivity takes center stage. Cloud, and indeed Intercloud, was much less of a theme for Ngena at MWC. Instead, networking was more to the point.
  • Mini-multinationals are still the top priority. More than ever before, the 22% of SMEs with multinational operations are the target market.
