Summary

The term digital transformation data hub might sound like a combination of buzzwords, but when Moro explains the concept, its role and purpose becomes clear. Moro has built the first of these digital transformation data hubs in Dubai, which is rapidly becoming a regional hub for technology and has the ambition to become a fully integrated smart city by 2021.

Complexity is the enemy of success in digital transformation

CIOs must manage an array of different technologies and deliver them to the business as a coordinated and coherent service. The digital transformation of businesses is forcing many organizations to change old legacy systems for newer and more agile technologies. This is where the problem becomes that of the CIO, who must own and deliver seamless services that operate and provide the business outcomes needed at the particular point of the transformation journey.

The Moro digital transformation data hub concept is to offer a range of digital services to customers that are on their digital transformation journey based on a defined framework, so they can select the most appropriate services to match their specific requirements. Ultimately the goal is to distrupt businesses and help them evolve from IT transformation to digital transformation. The Moro facility offers everything from office space to hyperscale computational solutions. Because building a facility and offering a wide range of services is a complex undertaking, Moro has gathered an ecosystem of partners. The secret sauce to Moro’s success is blending these partners, services, and its expertise so that customers get end-to-end solutions alongside the assistance they need at the time when they need it.

The main offerings of Moro comprise of five main service classifications, which break down into many subsets of offerings that customers can select from. Customers can choose one of these segments or a mix to suit their specific needs.

Data center and managed services

Under this service heading, Moro covers core capabilities including co-location, managed hosting, DR/BC services, and infrastructure. Some organizations prefer to run these core services themselves, while others consider them non-business-value-adding and are happy to seek assistance in delivering the core infrastructure.

Cloud services

The cloud services umbrella covers a wide range of mission-critical as well as typical cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and storage as a service (STaaS). Customers can select the cloud services and use them with the data center services, making hybrid cloud solutions a simple operation.

Professional services

Moro offers the typical range of professional services covering all aspects of system integration to deliver and manage IT. The services are categorized as advisory, projects, technical, and operational. Moro has built these services to complement the other services it offers so that it can become both a trusted adviser and implementer for its clients.

Digital services

Ovum believes that this service umbrella represents the area where Moro can expand to meet more diverse and potentially vertical demands. Current offerings include IoT as a service, AI as a service, RPAs, big data, and blockchain solutions.

Security services

The security services offered by Moro cover advisory, security operations, full security recovery solutions, and continuity. Ovum expects Moro to add SOC and full manged security services as a result of customers looking for help with delivering security, particularly during digital transformation when they are often moving from a known state to a unknown state.
