  •  The creation of a sophisticated pay-TV environment in North America has enabled operators to keep growing their pay-TV revenue, even in years when the total subscriber base has declined. Ovum expects this to level off, however, with the impact of declines in pay-TV subscriber numbers expected to only just be offset by ongoing ARPU increases.
  • In Latin America, pay-TV growth will be impressive – pay-TV subs will increase by more than 13 million over the next five years – but swift growth in the number of TV households will leave pay-TV penetration growing only a little from 42% in 2016 to 44% in 2021. Therefore, Ovum sees strong opportunities for even further subscriber growth.
