A detailed update of Latvia's TV market, encompassing free-to-air and pay-TV across all TV technologies, plus next-generation TV initiatives and OTT video. Includes TV ratings, revenues, market shares, programming, advertising, and platform and revenue forecasts.

  • Cable remains the most popular pay-TV platform. However, IPTV- and DTT-service provider Lattelecom is the most popular individual operator. Its IPTV services, launched in 2007, continue to enjoy the fastest subscriber growth.
  • Until 2016, premium paid-for OTT had remained underdeveloped in Latvia, despite relatively high broadband penetration of 65%. The launch of three international OTT players in 2016 – Netflix, Modern Times Group's Viaplay, and Amazon Prime – should, however, help push OTT development along in Latvia.
