On September 29, 2015, NTT Communications, with the support of Ovum, held an informal executive boardroom focus group in London on the subject of cloud computing. The event gathered 13 representatives of large UK companies with more than £250m in global revenue operating in a variety of vertical markets. This document summarizes the main views exchanged in the discussion, which was structured around five topics.


  • Public cloud use is often tactical, and may be temporary, but must always fit a specific business priority. For example, one company mentioned the use of public cloud infrastructure to tackle the Chinese market more flexibly to start with before creating its own infrastructure once its presence in this market has been secured.
