  • Converged offers continue to grow – albeit slowly. Two major multiplay partnerships emerged in 1H15: Sky Italia teamed up with Telecom Italia to offer the country’s first quad-play service – TIM Sky - while Mediaset formed a partnership with Vodafone Italia to deliver a bundled pay-TV and mobile telephony service. The pay-DTT operator has also struck a deal with Telecom Italia to deliver a bundled pay-TV and broadband service.
  • Both Sky and Mediaset have sought expansion via new standalone OTT video services. Mediaset launched its Infinity SVOD offering in December 2013 and Sky followed with its Sky Online service in April 2014. The competitive threat of international OTT services, however, is now beginning to materialize, with Spain-based Wuaki.tv launching in February 2015, and Netflix launching in October 2015.
