Introduction

This case study shows how Washington, DC-based American University was able to modernize its payments capabilities, not only for collection of tuition fees, but across all campus payments in a short amount of time with minimal impact on students. The university partnered with ACI to deploy its UP Bill Payment Solution to improve payment services, and improve the overall student experience.

Highlights

  • Demands for a greater range of more convenient payment instruments is growing, but for many organizations this is difficult due to the reliance on legacy infrastructure. Modern payment technology platforms are increasingly designed to be implemented relatively easily and to integrate with a broad range of legacy systems. Modernizing payments will undoubtedly take significant work, but this may be easier than many expect.
