Introduction

This presentation highlights some key findings from Ovum's fourth annual survey (conducted in 4Q15) of business end users, including trends in mobile device usage at work and the extent to which mobility is being properly managed by employers.

Highlights

  • For the first time in four years, the overall rate of "bring your own device" (BYOD) behavior across all markets has seen a significant drop, from 68.6% in 2014 to 60.5% in 2015.
  • The survey showed that 62% of respondents use two or more devices for work on a daily basis and 41.4% use three or more. Enterprise mobility strategies must take this activity in account.
  • A worrying number of respondents indicate that they are not required to identify and authenticate themselves on the devices that they use for work – including almost 50% of those who use personal smartphones.

Features and Benefits

  • Access unique survey data to gauge the true scale of mobile adoption among employees in major markets.
  • Understand the extent to which businesses are properly managing and securing their employees' mobile usage.

Key questions answered

  • Has the rate of BYOD behavior among employees continued to grow? Are employers providing their workers with more options when it comes to the devices they use?
  • How many mobile devices do employees use for work on a regular basis, and what types?
  • Are employers properly managing and securing corporate data on all the different devices that employees use?
