Introduction

Asia’s growing GDP and digital connectedness make it an appealing target for cybercriminals. The region’s cyberdefense is remarkably poor and we look at what enterprises must do to improve this.

Highlights

  • The Asian Development Bank reported last year that Asia-Pacific generated two-fifths of global GDP (in 2011 purchasing power parity terms) in 2015 – see Figure 1. With close to 2 billion users in the region connected to the World Wide Web via a PC, and many more on their mobile phones, this makes for a tantalizing stew of new targets, both for cybercriminals and for state-sponsored threat actors.

Features and Benefits

  • Many Asian exploits reuse common successful attack vectors from outside the region; this suggests that the cost of hacking an organization is relatively cheap while the gains are anything but. This report looks at what enterprises must do to improve this.
  • This report identifies where the immediate cybersecurity gaps are for Asia-Pacific enterprises.

Key questions answered
