The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) recognizes that the best way to increase student engagement and cost efficiency is to employ innovative pedagogical techniques such as the use of digital textbooks and mobile learning that also leverage the institutional learning management system (LMS).


  • HCT's goal was to increase student engagement by enhancing pedagogy while at the same time creating a sustainable learning environment.
  • In 2012 HCT adopted 14,000 iPads, and in 2013 replaced all of its print textbooks with digital textbooks.
