Introduction

Highlights

  • The report looks at how these consumers are engaging with recorded music and examines how technology developments are shaping the listening experience.
  • Although the report found that on-demand streaming was the most popular method of music consumption, free streaming through ad-supported video and audio services accounted for more than 70% of streaming consumption.
  • Listening to music on the radio is still popular, with more than 80% of consumers in almost all the countries included in the survey saying they did so. However, the report also noted that stream ripping remained a popular consumption method.
