This research analyzes operators' consumer pricing for fixed broadband and multiplay plans. It covers 19 of Ovum's tier-1 countries and spans all four major geographic regions of the world.


  • The global median price for a 30-day FBB (fixed broadband) and multiplay plan in 1Q16 was $41.31. The global mean was considerably higher at almost $60, but the mode, or the most frequent plan offered in our tracker, cost lower at $50.
  • The price of FBB per Mbps falls dramatically with the highest-speed tiers, as service providers start offering hundreds of Mbps and even gigabit speeds.
