This detailed spreadsheet provides communications provider revenues, capex, and capital intensity from 2008 to the most recent quarter. The scope of the tracker has now expanded to include CSP, ICP, and CNP data.


  • Global CSP revenues declined by 0.29% during 1Q17 compared to 4Q16, while capex declined by 16.9%, thus pushing down capital intensity (capex/revenues) to 16.8% for 1Q17.
  • The North America and OESEA regions witnessed a decent increase in CSP revenues during 1Q17, while all other regions registered declines, with North America and Western Europe recording the steepest drops in revenues during the quarter.
  • The US remained the highest spender in terms of CSP capex during 1Q17. However, China, Japan, Australia, and France were the second, third, fourth, and fifth largest capex spenders, respectively.
