This report provides an update on BT Group operations to end-December 2015, covering financial performance, market dynamics, key developments, and strategy as well as the operator's latest product and service launches.


  • In 3Q15, BT Group’s total revenue stood at £6.06bn ($8.99bn), a 1.9% year-on-year increase. EBITDA had also increased by 1.9% to £2.05bn. Total BT Global Services revenue declined by 1.1% year on year in 3Q15.
  • BT completed the £12.5bn acquisition of EE on January 29, 2016. As a result Deutsche Telekom (DT) now owns 12% of BT (and DT’s CEO, Timotheus Höttges, will join the board of BT). Orange owns 4%. BT now leads in both fixed and mobile subscriptions in the UK.
  • BT has announced its reorganization into six lines of business: BT Global Services, BT Business and Public Sector, BT Consumer, EE, BT Wholesale and Ventures, and Openreach.
